dealing with lawlessness
24 Answers
I have had a very bad evening, my children were playing out in the garden when a bunch of yobs started hurling stones at us, we gave them a mouthful and they gave us a load of abuse and laughed at us.
the yobs ranged in age from 10 to 16, my daughter has been very upset and burst into tears when they were shouting stuff at us, Why is it that these kids are allowed to roam free abusing and vandalising.
they wrecked the phone box the other day, the police have turned a blind eye, I will just sit tight next time and hide in the house with the kids and pray they wont put a window through, what is the country coming to

I bought an ex local authority house (2nd owner) when these were seen as a good future buy. Happy friendly street, mix of private and local authority and ex local authrty. Localish people, all ages, pride in their street. Then the council sells out to a housing association. Next we have people moving in with no local connection moved on cause they r trouble elswhere.Drug runners, someone telling my son that he had a gun and could shoot him (I called the cops who asked 'what would you like us to do Mrs X?') 'travellers' running a scrap business, and just before I left (praying my buyers didn't see) a group of mature hells angels who rode huge bikes on the pavements. All this in a once nice street of just 60 houses. These people dont care - just a place to live, cops dont care. Its very sad. Dont give in though- complain to cops, council and councillor - then hire Joe the Lion. Thinking of you.
I am a former newsagent and i have witnessed and endured tough time. Severals gangs pushed away from the centre of town made their roots in our area .
These gangs knew my family, where i live and which school my son and daughter attended to. My son suffered a serious attack last year coming out of school .
The police is left "hopeless" in regard of a juneval crime, and it takes 2 good hours for a written statement .
You will have to be very careful with this problem that can snowball into a crisis. Take pictures, film and write down names etc..Then go to the police and asked for assistance, if all fail write to the chief police of your town stating your problem insolved .
You could attends as well your local crime watch meeting
when your local councilor is present? or involve your local
radio and papers as they would be dying for a story. Most of all units with your neighbours .
But would remains anonymous for the childrens sake and avoid confrontations as it will implify the problem.
