More End of the World

Following on from commonsense's question about the Mayan prophecy of the end of the world in 2012, has anyone ever managed to work out when, according to the bible, Armageddon is due to take place, and if so, is there any correlation between the two dates?

(if there's any left).
The Mayans believed in Quickening,an acceleration of cosmic and terrestrial events that would end in catastrophe and rebirth, not necessarily complete annihilation for the planet but humans and other life forms will definitely be part of that.

In the unlikely event that Theland is standing in line awaiting the release of the new Harry Potter Book, "Deathly Hollows" . . .

Newton spent half his life searching for a bible code(old testament), he said it was more important than anything else he had ever done, he died still trying to make his breakthrough. Also the Mayans had a more accurate calender than we have today, so maybe the Newton predictions are closer than u think.
Hello Commonsense. Scenarios leading to the end of the world are usually one of two types: either a natural (or even preternatural) event or a supernatural event.
Mechanisms exist for the destruction of Earth but the time scales are very long.
Supernatural events are, by their very nature, mysterious and no expanation is possible. For an omnipotent and omniscient God, all things are possible.
As a child in 1966 I remember a mystic on television predicting the end of the world in 1967. Late in 1967 I asked my uncle why the world hadn't ended. He said to me that the world had ended "as we know it" because Christiaan Barnard had performed the world's first heart transplant !
