What can I buy as a present for a family?

A friend has been sofa-sitting for me (I bought a sofa and then my house sale fell through and she has had it in her front room since November) and I want to buy something to say thank you. I want it to be suitable for the whole family as her children have missed out from it being there as well because the room used to be their play room.

So... any ideas? I've been searching the internet but all it is coming up with is a family photo but I think her children would hate that! I was thinking of a meal but I know she wouldn't accept money so is there anywhere that you can buy meal vouchers?

They live in Birmingham.

Thanks in advance.

How about tickets for a day out? Either a theme park, safari park etc. Buy the tickets online and then present them to her.
Or, go to W H Smith, they do voucher packs for anything ranging from trips to cinema to bowling etc.
take them out fr dinner yourself?
theatre tokens?
A meal sounds like a great idea. I found this.. http://uktv.co.uk/food/coursesandgifts/aid/577 804 - Conran vouchers for the Zinc Bar and Grill in Birmingham. Other than that, how about vouchers for cadburys world or bowling or something?

What fantastic ideas. I will be using the other meal idea for another friend... thanks!

I have just bought a Dining and Days out voucher from W H Smiths so thank you very much for that suggestion.
