Otherwise he wouldn't be the devil, would he? Cultures all over the world have different names for the devil, Satan is the one used in Christian belief.
Hope that answers your initial question.
As for the rest of your post, I think you are referring to the War in Heaven, which is not actually described in the Bible at all (though it is referred to). The War in Heaven comes from Talmudic or other Hebrew folklore (retold in Milton's 'Paradise Lost'). In the War in Heaven, Satan and his rebel angels rebelled against God, not Jesus. Satan and his fallen angels were thereafter banished to Hell where they set up their kingdom with the aim of destroying mankind.

poses the question then as to why an Almighty God would allow Satan to have the aim of destroying mankind.
If, ultimatly, Satan is destroyed anyway, then why didnt God see fit to destroy Satan at the start? Or why did God see fit to even create such a creature, in the forknowledge that it would cause such havoc within the world?
Absolute nonsense

Satan never rebelled againt Jesus, it was the other way around, the true ruler of Earth is Satan.

Evening chaps, If Satan rebelled against god, I have to ask why god, knowing he had apparently created the greatest evil the world would ever see, didn't destroy him there and then. In fact, like Wiz, I wonder why god created Satan in the first place. Big mistake it seems. Obviously the almighty isn't as faultless as his followers would have us believe. Or is Satan just the excuse they need to explain away what they would term their 'sins'?
