On average, a child goes missing in the UK every five minutes - that is nearly 15,000 disappearances since Madeleine vanished.
Thankfully most missing children are reunited with their parents within a few hours or days.

The more I see of the McCanns on tv, the stranger they seem to me. They have toured all over the place, but there have recently been 5 reported sightings of their little girl in Malta.....did they rush off there? No, they did not. Malta is not the other side of the world, neither is it a huge island. I would be scouring every inch of it, not interviewing for a 'campaign and media manager'. I just find the whole thing odd....not something I'm finding easy to express....just the feeling that everything doesn't quite add up as it should.

Until you are in the situation where you return home to find your child gone you will never know if how they are acting is normal. Its grief and many people cope in many different ways.

I just feel the need to comment on the case of little Maddy who went missing Approx 50 Days ago, What were these so called Parents thinking about ,(Nothing but themselves.) They wanted to go out for a Meal and a Drink and thought that it would be O.K. to leave 3 Small Children on their own the eldest at 3 Years of age in a Strange Country, Which was not necessary , I believe that there were Facilities which they could have used which could have left those 3 Children safe until their return, They seem to be Parents who have plenty of money,Plenty of Qualifications on paper. But alas NO COMMON SENSE. I do hope that Little Maddy is found Alive and Well and returned home and I hope that the Mccanns go and get some parental Training and Schooling in COMMON SENSE. I personally feel nothing but Contempt for Mr & Mrs McCann they were stupid People with no thought for their tiny Family. ALLIGATOR

"Intelligent and sophisticated as the MacCanns"
Not intelligent or sophisticated enough to protect their children tho' it would seem. Gerry MacCann has a rather unfortunate habit of opening his mouth before engaging his brain and revealing to us all just how insensitive the real man is. He openly critisises the portuguese police force.He uses unfortunate words in his comments regarding the press release relating to the anonnymous letter claiming to know where Maddy's body could be found...he calles them "irresponsible and cruel". Surely those comments could have been more appropriately applied to Mr MacCann and his wife for leaving 3 young children under 3 in an apartment unattended while he and his wife went off out to enjoy a meal and drinks unhindered by their children. He has cost alot of people lot of money and time and there have been some extremely generous people who have put private jets etc at their disposal. He would do well to remember that........before he critisises anyone else he should take a long hard look at himself and his wife...and their shortcomings as parents. As much as they have no doubt suffered....little Madeleine has surely suffered more.

Remember that Austrian girl, Natasha Kampusch, who was kidnapped and kept for 8 years? I think that this is what has happened to Maddie. I think she's alive but that some sicko wants to keep her and let her grow to maturity in his keeping. A classic copycat crime.

legend these parents gonna live every moment rest of lives knowing this.sadly they proberly will never have closure.i hope all dosh made since maddy disappeared is going to be put in a fund to help all missing kids.The parents cos they done things different to you or me dont make em bad legend.but do agree if ya minted people listen. poor ben harper who went missing, that poor mother as anyone helped her over the years.NO cos she not privlidge class.

Legend - have you got a link that says that one child goes missing every 5 mins? Not to sound sceptical (and moving slightly off topic I know) but I read an article (can't find it now of course) that says very few (less than 10) children go missing without explanation in th e UK each year.
