Bindis and religion

I was just flicking through TV channels and saw an Indian woman on "Deal or No Deal" putting bindis on everyone's forehead and it got me thinking. She didn't appear to ask anyones permission (though she may have easily done so before the show started) and one old chap didn't look too happy about it. She said it symbolised the "third eye" and would bring luck to evveryone. (Incidentally she took out the �250,000 with the first box)
If you were a Christan / Muslim etc with strong beliefs in your own faith would you have been happy about this?
Would it have compromised your faith?

Well, the people who go on Deal or No Deal are the sort who'll go along with just about anything. I think she's a nutter but then I wouldn't go on a show with Noel Edmonds, not even for �7,500.

No, its just a dot on my forehead, wouldn't bother me at all. I wouldn't walk around outside with it on though and I can see why it bothered the old guy, men don't like to be done up and have attention drawn to their face, lol.

I don't watch it, and consider those sort of programmes an insult to what little intelligence I have. How people can compromise themselves for the chance of a cash handout is beyond me.
I'm not against quiz shows, but that kind of show is real garbage .... in my opinion. (Wiz taught me to say that.)

Morning dear Theland, I'll agree with you there. Shows like that are garbage. I never know why everyone feels the need to get so exicited and scream and shout so much.

Sorry Mammar, my apologies. I didn't answer your question. Not having any particular religion it doesn't bother me, but putting myself in the shoes of someone who is devout, I believe I would be unhappy to see any symbol that I felt deeply about being used in a trivial manner.
