yesterday, to crude bombs where fdound in london, as bad as this is, the bombs did not explode. we have had 2 days ( so far ) of wall to wall coverage, both on tv and in the papers. yet these bombs are killing hudreds of people in iraq every week, but this barely commands 30 seconds of air time. are we somehow ofmore value than the poor iraqs.
I wish they'd stop saying that the 'bombs' could have caused untold carnage because it's patently untrue.
But to your point, I think people are generally only ever concerned when something affects them personally. Sad but true. These burning cars were on our doorstep whereas the Iraq nightmare is half a world away.
Also our new glorious leader will be able to exploit the fear kindly promoted by the ever compliant media by introducing some new and tasty legislation to push us further into some kind of police state.
hi Llamatron,
sorry i have not acknowledged your reply sooner,
i have been away for 2 wks.
i must say i have to concur with all you say, as you say the
media & poloticians have roughly the same agenda,
i just wish people would open their eyes, to see whats
really going on, by slowly deminishing our rights we are
doing the terrorists work for them.
all the best Dave
Its obvious this is a publicity stunt, so Gordon ********** can assert some authority over us!! also helps us to score points against the Muslim world, which we seem to be obsessed with. Knocks me sick that I am English.
Hi commonsense,
you are exactly right, i only wish that more people would
not always take things on face value & see what is really
going on. politicians, on the whole with a few exceptions,
are only interested in climbing the greasy pole, to further
their own self serving interests, we are just voting foder.
