Hi, has anyone done their interview for being an ambulance care assistant? How fit do you have to be? And can it then lead to other positions withing the ambulance service?
No, I mean an Ambulance Care Assistant. It's basically taking patients to hospital who can't get there otherwise. I was wondering if it could lead to getting work on a 'real' ambulance, and even paramedic training down the line?
I started as an ACA on the patient transport service - I'm now an emergency medical technician and will do my paramedic training soon.
This route is being phased out in some service, although it is actually the best way to get suitable people for this challenging job - NHS management...sigh!
