registry fixers

My Nephew is experiencing registry problems, any idea where I can get a good registry fixer that will sort them out, prefer a free one!!

except there isn't really an answer.
The best registry "fixer" is the good old install disc ...
in other words start again.

You don't say what the problem(s) are ... but if it ain't broke ...
if it is ... the combinations of values in the registry are infinite ... and will be different in every PC on the planet.

If an odd prog won't work ... uninstall/re-boot/re-install is your best bet.

you say nephew .. so I assume = kid which = fingers in everything .... hundreds of downloads ... visits to limewire .... etc etc

I rebuild my machine every 12-18 months as a matter of course .... if a kid was using it .... it would be every week!!! ;-)

Take the time to get the machine "just so" - except ... no virus software

.... and treat him to a copy of acronis drive image (�15.00)
rebuild .... image .... then next time it will take about 20 mins to restore the system - 2 mins to install the latest virus/firewall/spyware progs

My Nephew is 30 years old lol and fairly good with a PC he is just getting problems when he tries to download films from his video cam.

He already has the exact protection you recommend, as myself (it used to be my PC)

I have actually advised a format and I think this is what he is going to do.
