Photo re-naming

Hi,
I have a folder containing several photos of my new grandson, all with different file names. Is there an easy way to re-name these without doing them one by one ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try highlighting the list of photos you want to rename (click top then press shift and click bottom one) then right click and choose rename type in the new name e.g. NEWNAME and press return. Thiswill give you a list of photos called NEWNAME (1), NEWNAME (2) etc.
The above is assuming you are using Windows. Idon't know how you would do it on a Mac.

here is a slightly more complex (but far more versatile way)
to start with ... copy some files to a folder - and play around - that way no real damage
