please help. ive posted before if anyone recognises me going on!
i introduced my beloved cat to his new home, and resident cat approx 6-8 weeks ago. the resident cat still chases him off at any opportunity. im allowing my cat out now, but its becoming increasingly difficult to call him in. he used to be so obedient, almost like a good dog. he will not step foot into the house of his own accord. if i bring him in and shut the door he just hides somewhere, so i never see him any more. i feel like im losing him. can i salvage this? should i stop letting him out for a bit, or just accept that he might go and find another mummy ;o(

I would keep him in temporarily. He will of course hide in the house, but he will come round slowly once he has got used to surroundings, and plucked up some courage. Cats are very territorial and very jealous. THe other cat is not helping. Keep you cat in and give him loads of love.
I would keep him in for a while. We moved house 18 months ago and although we live in the countryside there are still a lot of cats about. There is one particular cat that had a go at my two when ever they were outside. They had many a set to and I was very worried at first. Anyway after a while my two stopped running away from bully cat and eventually gave said bully cat a taste of its own medicine. It took about a year for this to happen and now they just all ignore each other. Sometimes bully wanders into my house if the door is open and my two chase him out. So give your cat a bit longer, in fact it would be a good idea if you could stand outside with him for a while untill he establishes his own terratory.....Good luck.
if i was you i would not let him out .is there not a room that he can have to his self where the other cat can not get to him so that he has his own safe place. as i said before i still have 2 that can not be in the same room together without a free for all
Well ive got 3 cats and if I was you I would keep him in for a while and if he hides leave him and call him later on. By some toys and treats for him and be nice. And after a few he should be friendly again.

Good Luck
