why does body hair stop growing at a certain length while head hair continues to grow?

head hair deoesnt continue to grow, some people cant grow long hair, some people can
and it just falls out at a certain length it doesnt stop growing
Would a beard be classed as body hair?

Body hair is androgenic hair and the growth rate is dependant upon the level of androgens � male hormones - in the individual human body, hence men tend to be hairier than women, well, apart my old PE teacher anyway. The hair on our head is terminal hair, typified by packed cells and thus coarser, thicker and longer.
