Depends what part of New England. Some parts are mountainous and you would have a very good chance of snow. I have had snow in Connecticut 1st 2 weeks in December. As heathfield says, better to be prepared.
Thanks to you both - my husband is desperate to see some 'proper' snow, as he puts it. I'd like to go somewhere pretty and where we could do some Christmas shopping. Not interested in skiing.
Most of the places likely to have snow don't have many shops. There are many shops around Mystic and of course Boston but no snow guaranteed there. Places like Stowe in Vermont probably would have snow but very few shops. Why not shop in Boston then drive out to the snow?
Yup, I've shopped in Freeport too, bought a pair of trainers extrawide and they are divine. Not much else there though, the place has little charm and I'm not convinced that the prices are that good either.
