Please help i put diesel in my petrol car!

My car is an X reg peugeot 206. I ran out of petrol. then put about �4 of diesel in it by accident. i then put �10 worth of petrol in it to try and dillute it and start the car. but it didn't work at all. does anyone know what i have to do now? and how much it will cost?? thankyou!!! :)

whatever you do,do not start the car,have it taken to a garage,they will drain the tank and pipes and clean up,with a bit of luck you might be ok,it should cost about �100/120

put a pipe onto the outlet on the fuel filter housing connect to a electric fuel pump . connect live and earth to a battery . and pump the fuel out .good luck

syphon out the contaminated fuel, either by getting a tube into the fuel filler if possible and sucking it out, or disconnect the fuel line under the bonnet, turn on the ignition and allow the electric pump to pump it through and into a bucket, Im sure I dont need to tell you to be very carefull, no smoking or sparks!!
Then put plenty of fresh petrol in the tank, this will help dilute any left over diesel. Reconnect the fuel line and start it up, It may take a while to start and once its running it will probably cough and splutter for awhile but should clear after a few miles.

I put �6 worth of diesel in my petrol car!

I filled the car up with petrol and kept driving until the diesel had burnt out. By putting in �10 is not enough so I suggest you fill your tank to the max with petrol and keep topping up!

�4 worth of diesel is not a great amount!
