Hi girly, how's pregnancy otherwise? Hope it's going well. Can be thrush yes, and a cracked tongue can also signify a deficiency in something vitaminy for example, so it's worth seeing your doc, who, if this is the case, could suggest appropriate supplements. x
Yes you can take thrush treatments when pregnant - oral ones definitely. They taste nasty but you can take it
You could have slept with your mouth wide open and dried your tongue to the point of cracking? Do you use mouthwash as it could even be a simple over use of that?
You could also be deficient in Vit B12 (amongst other Vit b's) but the only way to find out for sure what it is, is to see your GP. Don't start taking vitamin supplements without checking first with your GP and/or pharmacist
Thanks to everyone who offered great advice. I think it maybe coz I have forgotten to take my multi vitamins for the last week.
Leelapops, pregnancy is going well, morning sickness is a pain but nothing I cant cope with! lol
Thrush can also be treated with capsules that you swallow. These are available either as a single dose (fluconazole) or as two capsules to be taken in the same day (itraconazole). Many women prefer pills to creams or pessaries, but they are more likely to cause side effects and should not be used if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking certain medication.
That's vaginal thrush which is treated with a different treatment than oral thrush - which I personally do not think is what girlygirl has got. Treatments for oral thrush is the same preparation as for a baby
