Hi, I recently decided to go from brown to black hair. I used a Garnier dye. I hate it though and I want to know if there is any way I can get rid of it without having to pay out for a hairdresser and without hurting the condition of my hair. Don't know what on earth possessed me to do it! X

head an shoulders shampoo is not recommended for dyed hair as it takes the colour out quickly, so I always use more that if I dont like the colour I go!
Also, (nothing to do with your Q) Was it garnier nutriesse? that one's OK, but I used another type of garnier dye once and it made my hair proper manky
what about a vegtable colour stripper? Its is less harsh on your hair than a normal colour stripper...though am not sure if it will go patchy...
I wouldn't try and lighten it at home, that's for sure.

Any shampoo that isn't designed for coloured hair will make the colour less 'bright' over a period of weeks but it will still look black I'm afraid.

I really wouldn't try anything at home

You should contact your local hairdressers for model nights- they are really cheap and will get your hair to the colour you want it properly-!! they have teachers with them constantly so you know its being done right! the more you mess about with it at home the harder it will be to fix in the long run!
You could go to sallys hair and get the stuff there that you need. Not sure what it is called - however I would say that it might be better to get the hairdresser to do it for you, as you do have to be careful not to damage the hair and scalp etc.
my hair dresser advised me to use medicated shampoo a few times to calm it down wen i didnt like my colour. apprently hairdressers used to use head & shoulders for that in shops!!!
Daniel Glavin do some sort of colour removal thingy. It doesnt have ammonia in it but it helps life some of the stronger tones from your hair, that might help you get back to brown.
