I tried the following over a two year period..
1/ massage by physiotherapists.
2/ cortisone injections
3/ acpunture
4/ hypnosis
None of these attempts at a cure were successful.
In desperation I purchased and wore a small copper bangle on my left wrist.
My doctor laughed and told me that this suggested remedy was an old wife's tale.
Old wife's tale or no,within two months the tendonitis had completly vanished and it has never returned.
This all happened 40 years ago and I have worn the bangle 24 hours a day every day since.
Maybe the copper bangle cure is , as some say, an old wife's tale or, as others say, "It's all in the mind..."
Either way I believe that it worked for me...The bangle stays for the rest of my life..!
They do work and back in the seventies there were a lot of them on the counters of the local chemists where I lived....My grandmother wore them and said that they relieved her rhuematism by a noticible degree. As for magnets there is a big market for them in the far east so much so that the advertise them on tv
Belief is very powerful.
There is a thing called the placebo effect. When testing new drugs etc, it is well known that people often report improvement even when given the dummy control. This is why you need a control -- you have to show that your drug works better than belief alone.
I wonder if anyone has done proper trials on remedies of this kind? 100 people with tendonitis, half get real copper, half get something which looks the same but isn't...
The other thing which believers often fail to discount is coincidence -- Murranji, perhaps you were about to get better anyway? One case of this kind can never be a statistically significant result.
