Dr or Optician?

Not sure which one!

Every so often (once a week or so) i get a very nasty sharp pain in the corner of my right eye, the corner nxt to my nose, like some one is poking it with something like needle. That lasts a few minutes, but then it seems to start irritating me and getting sore and then i get a very red part in my eye.
The red goes from right in by my nose and is a red blood shot area about half a centimetre thick and runs to around half way between the edge of my eye and the iris (think thats the coloured part!) It is sore for a day or two, then goes back to normal, only to happen again a while after!

Any ideas on what it maybe or if i should see my Dr or Optician?
Sorry if im not very technical with the way i say things in my answer, i dont know much about parts of the eye!

Eyes are extremely important. I would check with optician they seem to have the gear necessary to look into the eye.

Hi wiggal, sorry to hear about your problem I would be inclined to see your doctor first and he/she will deside if you need an optician or ent at hospital or can deal with it himself.Hope your little darlings are all well.Best of luck love,hope all goes well.

Thanks, I am due for an eye test soon anyway as not had one in around 4 years! So will ask then :)

Garner, I also need to go to the Drs soon thinking about it for a repeat prescription so there cant be much harm in asking both can there?

She is a beauty!
And Minx? she makes me late for my lift to work because she insists on sitting on my lap when im getting ready (she seems to know im going out) and i end up sat talking to her and cuddling her, next think i know, my mate beeps outside and i end up running around like a muppet to try t finish getting ready!!
And she farts worse then any of the other cats, she really stinks! lol!
But wouldnt be without her! And she is just like her mum Kacey, looks & personality!

If it was me, I would make an appointment with an optometrist rather than an optician as they `re a lot better re eye problems. They`re more qualified.
