how do i find a long lost friend

i have just been on friends reunited and a friend is on there,he lives in thornton near blackpool,is it possible to try and find him on the pc,whats the best way of doing it,ive tried replying to him but i think his account has run out.is it possible to find him thru a phonebook,cheers
