I have just tried to do something which should be quite simple. I only want to erase the contents of an ipod nano (a very nice pink one) and load it up with a few more albums. Then tomorrow I'd like to erase those albums and load 3 different ones. I'm not asking for water to turn into wine. Easy ? Intuitive ? Like flip. I give up. ipod must be a dreaded clique.

Apparently, you have to deleted from itunes library to delete from the ipod. Not sure how true this is though.
im not into the ipod

use my sony ericsson phone.

no need for paying gates more cash grrrrrr
okay i'll be honest i still use a walkman with mix tapes sad i know but i won't part with it and it's never failed me
Simply delete the tracks you want to erase from iTunes, then connect your iPod to the computer. It should automatically erase the songs you deleted off your iPod.

If you want to keep the songs in iTunes, turn of autosync in iPod preferences, then connect your iPod, select it and delete the song from the interface.

Im with ya whiff :( I cant even work my mobile and ive had it a couple of years now lol I wouldnt even try to work an ipod :s

ok thanks everybody, I have just discovered the problem, apparently I am as thick as pig sh!t, and as a 4gb (pink) nano will hold more music than I could ever hope to listen to before I die, why waste my time deleting any. And there's the ALBUM option there, how thick are you ?
I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 that im verging on a 12
Shouldn't this Q be in 'How It Works'?

Careful whiff, I know another ABer who uses B&S for every Q it wants to ask!

I hope you bought that iPod..
