several years ago i worked out side in the sun alot . i was sweating and flies keep trying to bite me. every since then i have something crawling under my skin on my upper arms. same place flies landed. it will start itching or crawing when something touches my arm. even a shirt touching me. its like i have woke something up., i have tried every thing. it is so unbearable i think i'm going crazy. if i scratch it get worse than every. what do u think it can be causing this?

It is probably a nerve - a form of 'tic', an involuntary response to stimuli.

There is certainly nothing under your skin that shouldn't be.

Hi jonstan. I have something similar to what you describe, not an itch, more of a tickle that I have to scratch. Went to my GP last year, but couldn' t throw any light on it. It went away, but it's come back this summer. It does feel like nerve endings irritating my skin. It feels like a feather is touching my skin, fleetingly. Keeps me awake at night. I was asked the usual questions. Change of bath stuff, washing powder, fabric conditioner. If the itching is really bad, I would suggest bicarbonate of soda mixed with water, splash it on. It's really soothing. See your GP as suggested. Good luck.
