Boo you make it sound as though the choice of leaving their children was a one off mistake, an error of judgement. This is not the case as there are several credible reports from witnesses who stated they saw the parents eating without the children many nights on that holiday.
And yes, I stand by my description of the children as being "accessories". They were dumped in a creche for hours at a time and then only picked up for two hours before being sent to bed. These people clearly didn't enjoy having the children around them during their holiday. They appear to be an inconvenient ball and chain (or rather not, as they appear to have cast them off for long periods of time, evidently)

I think after the terrible incident with little Maddie, the second biggest tragedy is the fact the McCanns have been in sunny Portugal for 4 months and do not even have the glimmer of a decent suntan.

I'm trying not to air my views as I am not qualified to decide what has happened. But in light of all the newspapers and media coverage, it is very hard to distinguish rumors from truth. Until the police issue a statement or give us the details themselves I think we should all take the medias coverage as rumor.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only thing we know for sure is that she is missing... and that her parents left them alone ..... what else do we know for absolute sure (not speculation)? That is a question because I've become confused!

As for their behavior, I'm not sure I could cope the way they have but again i'm no behavioral psychologist!

Fair point Andrea, none of us know anything really just what we are told and we cannot she she has/hasnt been killed or the parents did/didnt do it.

and why should 'Gerry' be additionally upset that he is not able to use the money that is in the Madeline Fund for their defence???? Surely that is not 'their' money. All the money that has been donated is not to line their pockets...

The two remaining children will of course grow up knowing all the facts of the case, they wont be easily forgotten by all who know the McCanns and will be passed down through their children!! I think they are in many ways the real victims here as they will also have to live with all taunts from other children all through their childhoods and into adulthood about how their parents abandoned them to go out boozing etc
