I remember a while ago you were looking for books and so on that would be uplifting for your best friend to read, as she'd just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I was listening to radio 4 yesterday and there was a woman called Veronica Mulcahy on. She's had breast cancer and has just written a 'humorous handbook' , believe it or not, to help other women who are diagnosed as having it. It sounded really good and unusual & I thought you might be interested - this link has more details: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/2004_39_fri_04.sh tml I hope your friend's doing ok, take care x

I thought I would mail as I am a friend of Veronica Mulcahy and had the honour of sitting with her while she was doing the interview on Radio 4 about her Breast Cancer booklet "Bosom Buddy". One thing that was not mentioned on the interview is that all the proceeds from the booklet go directly to the charity. It truly is an inspiring read, Veronica has written from the heart and tackles head on the situations that you can find yourself in when sufffering with Breast Cancer. Hard to believe that you can find humour at this time but Veronica really did, and I believe it kept her and her family going during this difficult time. I hope you do get the booklet as I am sure it will help your friend and those around her.
Best wishes
