Hmmm.......
Wednesday - Went to the beach; swimming with the kids; meal with the grown-ups later; kept popping back, kids ok.
Thursday - Killed daughter; managed to hide the body within half an hour; went back to restaurant; raised alarm later; have made plans to dispose of body with Gerry; twins ok.

I victim, really? What about her family, even if you dont feel the parents are victims (which if it turns out to be an abduction I believe they are), what about nthe rest of Maddies family. If a small child that wasnt mine but was in my family, went missing, I would be gutted and full of grief.
Guilty parties, just 2??? Inclusive of the Mccanns what about the person that may have taken off with her, should he not be found guilty? Is it a get out of jail free card because the parents weren't looking/there? What about the apparently bungled plice investigation? Not shutting the borders, not getting there soon enough, failing to preserve a crime scene etc etc
There are more victims than Maddie in this and there are far more guilty parties than Kate and Gerry, although what exactly they are guilty of, who knows?

Was it irresponsible? Yes, clearly and unequivicably.
Is it evidence that they are anything more than irresponsible? No. The day that Maddie dissappeared, there were undoubtedly hundreds of other parents who had done the same thing but who had got away with it thanking their lucky stars.

leg, thats why I used the word "may", not the person that DID take her, not knowing they didn't or did do it.
and Gina thats why I used the word "exactly"... we don't know if they killed her. So they may be guilty of more than leaving her unattended, however, one of at least 10 regulars bang on about that everyday on here so I figured it didn't need mentioning. Gina if they didn't do it, then by claiming there are just 2 guilty you are giving a get out of jail card to the person that did.
When I left my lawnmower outside whilst I went on the schoolrun, I came back and it was stolen. Now I was stupid to have left it there but I still blamed the thieving git that took it.

goodsoulette, i mean that 1 victim, maddie, 2 guilty the parents for leaving them alone. their may well be someone else but until then we can only say that they are the guilty ones, leaving your lawnmower is a little different to leaving your kids, would you have left your kids alone in the garden and gone off for half an hour? you can always buy another lawnmower
