If somebody said would you enjoy watching a man approaching 80 years old, singing childish songs about broken horses, completely hashing up classics like "Stairway to Heaven", playing tuneless instruments like the stylophone, wobble board and didgeradoo and walking around with a fake extra leg whilst painting lanscapes with a decorators brush, you would no doubt say "Of course I would not watch such a garbage act"

So what is it about Rolf Harris that is so wonderful?

Personally I love the man. Perhaps it is just his innocence and the fact he can command an audience without any blue humour, mickey taking or wotnot.

My own tastes in music are far and wide, covering the globe. But I have always liked Rolf Harris. I have never seen him humiliate or insult anyone on TV. And, hey, can he draw!!!
A lovely man. Very heart warming.
100% agree. He's a treasure, with an enormous talent.
years ago when i was working in a hotel in the cotswolds they were filming animal hospital nearby and rolf and the rest of the crew stayed at the hotel, he asked me where i was from and i said wales, he took my hand and sang me an old welsh lovesong in the middle of the restaurant - he made me cry! he was such a sweet man - of all the famous people ive met in work, he's one of the best!!
One of my heroes, along with:

Micheal Palin
John Noakes
Brian Cant
didnt he also do the "learn to swim" adverts when we were wee? (and when he was ehm younger)
It's the fact that like Brian Cant, he's managed to enthrall children over three or four children and once you've identified with that brand as a kid, you stay loyal. Avuncular, isn't he; everyone's favourite uncle.
I went to see the man a few years ago in South Shields, there were 25,000 people in the crowd that day, it was out door. When I met him backstage he signed my shirt and when I asked him to draw a rolf-a-roo on it he abliged and did it right on the pocket. How cool is he? The next day me and my mate were center pages in full colour in the local paper singing along in the crowd, I have the original photo from the paper, my mates mother went and got it, I didn't know you could do that! He is rumoured to be back again next year, he does it every two or three years, and best of all it's free. Wouldn't catch 50 cent doing that!!!
