They are beautiful, the pics are of the ones in Rwanda, it was a longer trek to find them than the one in Bwindi, but they were once we had found them easier to see, had longer fur/hair, they were soo big and when the tracker did not know the babies and females were around the back of a bush the blackback charged, the tracker wasnt hurt but it certainly made you realise they were wild animals and although most of these groups are habituated and used to seeing humans, you knew anything could happen
If you mean the Orphange Volunteer Stays, thenthese trips are fairly common, they are often offered to teachers mostly, but there are a lot of the Wildlife Tour Operators can arrange also I presume for anyone. There were 6 of us but during our stay to see the gorillas people booked with safari companies, If interested I would put Mountain Gorilla safari holidays or working holidays and Good luck, you will never regret it x
Oh Chesnuts you lucky person, I bet its a trip you will never forget Im mad on them but have not had a chance to see them in the wild.I have got a beautiful picture by joel kirk in my lounge of two mothers with babies its a limited addition and is my pride and joy, such wonderful creatures and so in decline it beggers believe. Thanks for sharing your photos and I envy you. g
wow, I've just caught up with some of your replies how lovely, thankyou. To those of you who would like to see them I would really recommend it. Tomorrow I will post some more of the pics on here for those who are interested and its heartbreaking as we believed that in our life time these gorillas will become extinct due to taking their land for farming and other similar issues whether political eg Congo etc, or not.
