Best didital SLR?

I really fancy getting a digital SLR, I've got about �500 to spend and I did venture into our local camera shop but I got a bit intimidated by the jargon and left still with the cash, so over to you people anyone have any ideas?

Well done...leaving with ur money.... Dont buy one before Xmas...they are tumbling in price...they have just released a 16mega pixel SLR....lots of factories in China are pumping out cameras ...wait until maybe March next year and save urself a few hundred...in the meanwhile get urself reading some of the best buy mags and bring urself up to date with whats happening... best of luck.
