Setting questions

hi, here is my Q in full! I have to set a quiz and am not sure how to pitch the questions. any tips for trying to cover all "intellects"?? thanks

It's quite difficult but libraries do have pub quiz books, you could cherry pick from several and then add some of your own. GOOD LUCK

Fatbjork I have been compiling & delivering pub quizzes for years.I am aware of my audience who also have different levels of intellegence.
Firstly dont make it to hard, topical questions are always popular eg who left office on the same day as Blair = Prescott.Read papers, watch the news
If you think the question can be a bit difficult offer a muti-choice of 3 possible answers
Popular themes are TV, films, sport, music anagrams at half time. geography, history, colours of the london underground, monopoly board ie name the 4 stations, name the 5 sons in Thunderbirds etc Royal family british PMs US Presidents hope you find these useful (I have) However, the one thing you will never do, as I, is please everybody, but yopu can show them that at least you are trying Good Luck Steve

Hope this isn't too late to help. Have also been setting quizzes for more years than I care to remember ( 22 and still counting ).
I always do a "connections" round. Every answer in the one I'm doing tomorrow is or contains the name of a county
( but there are no questions about counties as such. ) Among the answrs are Devon Loch, Yorkshire Pudding, Suffolk Punch and H.M.S. Cornwall. There are so many possibilities there --- birds, colours, etc.
I also nearly always do an "alphabet" one ( i.e play "Blockbusters", if you remember the TV show ) in which the first letter of each answer is the same or in which the first letters spell out a phrase. I've replaced that tomorrow with a round where all the answers are palindromes.
Let your imagination run riot and I'm sure you'll come up with a myriad of ideas.

I've been setting quizzes for a while. I too do a picture round but to keep people on their toes I sometimes vary it from the usual - the last one I did was pictures from the Mr Men books. If you Google "Quizzes" there are loads of quiz questions & answers you can pick from.
I too do a connections round. One I did recently, the answers were all to do with cars (e.g. a place to cross a river = Ford). Another one I did was where the answers were all chocolate bars (e.g. speak quietly = Wispa).
I've got loads of quiz books from the cheap Publishers Book Clearance shops - I never pay more than about �1 for them.

Depends which audience you're trying to appeal to - if it's people who ask quiz questions on this site I'd go for the only moderately difficult e.g. What does 2+2 equal?
