Whiplash and Pin & Needles...

Serious answers only, please... :o)

I had a car accident on Wednesday afternoon and was taken to hospital. I was told that I have severe whiplash (again!) and to try and rest. I also went to my GP yesterday as recommended by the hospital doctor.

Anyway, whilst I was examined by these doctors I was asked if I had experienced any Pins & Needles in my fingers or toes, and I hadn't. However, I am now and I just wondered if anyone knew much about what that might mean.

I would call NHS Direct, but they're only taking urgent calls at the moment as they're so busy and I wouldn't want to stop someone getting through.

Thanks in advance, ABers! x

Awww, thanks for the hugs, bigmamma! :o) The nurse called me back last night and said to wait until morning before calling my on-call doctor. I've just gotten off the phone to him and he said it's nothing to worry about unless it carries on for a few days. He said it's just the effect the whiplash in my neck is having on my spine or the discs in my neck, but the fact it's started a couple of days after the accident is less of a worry. x

Thanks for the link, DONNA. The paramedic said that about the headrest, too. I think I'll go with the solicitor I'm using for my last accident. Thanks again. x
Pleased the nurse got back to you love and hope you will be ok in a day or so once your neck damage starts to improve. It would still be wise to contact your doctor about it to be sure if the pins and needles persist . Hope you got some sleep . :-) xxx
