time off work for hospital/doctors appointments

I have diabetes type 1 and not under control as well as it should be so i have been in hospital twice this year for a few days each time and a couple of days off sick but have now got quite a few appointment and i think the company i have been with now for a year are getting funny with me about them even though i say i will make the time up and do, what is my stance if they say i cant go.TIA

they are not obliged to give you the time off for doctors appointments, so i'm afraid you don't have a leg to stand on. Your only alternative is to take holiday
If you are a member of Diabetes UK then they will give you advice on how to proceed. My understanding is that diabetes is classified as a disability, so certain legal principles apply. However, I cannot say exactly what they are in the UK. Good luck
Well I blame the media. With the latest fuss over obesity and poor diet and not stating the difference between type 1 and type 2 Diabetes. My son has type 1 (and not self inflicted) and he has often been told that he must have eaten too many sweets!. It makes me very angry. It's probably why your employers are not very supportive.
However, I don't think they can stop you from going for your check ups.
