Flu - Jab or not to Jab?

A new study fuels growing doubts over the effectiveness of the �115 million annual vaccination campaign, following research published last month suggesting there was little evidence it was effective in elderly patients or that it saves lives.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) researchers found that having the flu jab did not cut the chances of those aged 65 to 89 attending hospital for respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia and chest infections.

I don't see that age necessarily has anything to do with this amsterdammer,I am 39 and I don't consider myself old.Two of my children are also entitled to the flu jab as they are asthmatic. You don't have to be old to have lung conditions or other illnesses that mean you are entitled to a free flu jab.

tonyted you aren't in Preston by any chance are you? I saw a report in the Preston newspaper about the patients having to queue outside for ages.
