is anyone able to tell me if my employer can force me back to work. ive been off 4 weeks but my gp insists on me staying off for a further t 2weeks. me employer says if i dont return by next week they will give the re-deployement job they offered me and to which i accepted in writing to someone else. can they do this?

Only as a temp measure until you return to work. Do you have an occupational health advisor where you work?

yes occy health will call me next week. but they are desperate for me to return to work, can they force me to come back.

my wife is an OHA, you should be able to see them a bit sooner than next week, can you phone your OHA and get seen quicker?
The OHA is there for your benefit, however the employer will try and make sure the needs of the business come first, however, they also have a resposibility to ensure that you are fit to return to work
