Is ex Blue Peter presenter Peter Purvis alive? We're having a debate on him in the office and I don't even know who he is!

Yes he is. The last time I saw him he was on 'The Office', in the episode where they have a training day. He was the guy on the video they have to watch.

Peter Purves. Yes - he still does loads of things and I've seen him quite often on TV ever since he left BP. The only dead BP presenters are

Christopher Trace (1958-1967)
Michael Sundin (1984-1985)
and Caron Keating (1986-1990).

Oh, by the way, if you are too young to "know who he is", he is one of the presenters who was in the famous clip of Lulu (the elephant, not the singer) pooing all over the studio in 1969. He's the slightly stocky sensible one (the slightly thinner clowny one with a Yorkshire accent was John Noakes).
