Is graphical information easier processed and remembered if compared to words?

yes. your brain is an associative memory system. the more links to an item you make the more you are likely to remember it. Good memory recall techniques utilise all our senses to identify unique characteristics and link them to a desired memory. colour, texture, size, shape, all help memory. Imagination should also be used to a great extent. The more you can add to a graphic or word the better your chance of recall. The colour of the graphic and its shape etc. should aid recall when linked to the word. So in reality I would say graphics are easier to remember than words. A word is a small piece of black ink, a graphic uses a lot of things we can use to identify them.
