Algae
2 Answers
I have a 44 litre coldwater tank which has filters and pump. I have 1 shibumkin, a black goldfish type and 2 minnows. However, I'm really suffering from algae, the water is clean but the glass is so green I cant see the fish. I have changed part of the water several times but this doesn't seem to help. Can anyone offer me some advice. I only feed them flakes once a day so it cant be over feeding.

Try Practical Fishkeepings web site I hear they're quite good but I think you have to join. Failing that try your local Aquarium dealer; a decent one usually likes to help even if you don't buy stuff!
Hope this helps; even a little!

Pardon me if this seems presumptive but you do know you need to clean the glass don't you? No matter how good you filter the water, you need to clean the glass sometimes. You can buy those pad thingies with a magnet so you can clean the inside without getting your hands/arms wet.
As stated above, direct sunlight should be avoided to minimise the algea growth.
