What an ill thought-out plan. Won't a potential bomber get around this by avoiding stations with high security in place, and simply boarding the train elsewhere?

Mr Ben, so you don't think a commuter train might be a target?
Have to agree again - there's nothing intrinsically special about trains if they're to hard to hit any terrorist worth his salt will simply find another target.

Again the IRA even targeted a fly-over on the North Circular once which caused havoc.

These people will always be with us - if it's not the IRA or Al Qaeda it'll be individuals like the "Unibomber".

I think Benjamin Franklin said the "price of liberty is eternal vigilance".

Just a fact of life I'm afraid
I think anywhere can be a target in its own way.
But they are far more likely to go for a target which will give them mass publicity, which is why they go for places that everyone has heard of.
These people are intent on ruining the free life. i think the government is just making people aware.
I hope you dont think i am saying your question is rubbish naomi ; )

Mr Ben, my question wasn't so much a question - more an observation.
