im thinking of buying the aspire 9300. is it reliable?

I can't answer specifically about the 9300, but I have an Aspire 3610 and it's been good. Only problems have been with CD drive (a connection came loose and it would open randomly) and a loose button on the keyboard (both fixed under warranty.

That aside, I can't complain. Just make sure you get 1+GB of RAM.
