when they say 'lost them' could they just mean they have lost the entire data backup and noone is getting child benefit this side of christmas? That's not as much as a security scare is it?

Unfortunately 'lost them' means they posted them unregistered - normal post - and they haven't arrived!

What a suprise - we could all have told them that would happen!

They will now have to spend billions 'looking into it' when any one of us could tell them the answer.

In this case, it doesnt matter if you have a job or not. Anyone with a child under tha age of 16 or in full time education gets child benefit. Every one of those people have had information about their names, addresses, national insurance number and bank details go missing with these two CD's that are "lost".
