Still no period and still getting negative tests!!!!!
I'm on day 34 of my cycle now. I have missed my period but pregancy tests still say negative. The Dr was dismissive and told me I culd leave a specimin at the hospital, but they just use home tests anyway!! It's all I can think about and I just want to know one way or the other!!!

how is the gp a waste of space? The girl is only six days late, and commercially available pregnancy tests are very reliable and hardly ever wrong. Leaving a specimen at the hospital would probably be a net cost to the nhs of around 30 or more quid for someone who is just impatient to know what she will find out in due course - what a waste of my taxpayers money! its not like its medically imperative she should know right now. If the hosp do it it will probably take over a week to get the results to the gp anyway and by then she'll probably know! Formal complaints stay on a persons record and are horrible to go through, so in my opinion your advice is over the top
(btw scoobysoo, i dont mean to sound rude although i can see how it might come across as sounding rude by saying you are impatient - but you are and so would i be in your shoes)

Well that's exactly why I didn't take a specimen and bought one. I've only been impatient because I'm woried that I haven't had a period, plus everyone has told me you should be able to test from the day you are due, which was a week ago. I would LOVE to be pregnant, and finding it hard to accept that I have probably just skipped a period. It's a real kick in the teeth because I deperately wanted it to happen this month, as Mr Scooby has just had an operation, and we will now have to wait till next year and are both disappointed.
scooby, whether a test gives you a true result on the day your period is due or not also depends on when you actually conceived.
If you only had intercourse once last month and it was say on the 14th day of cycle then perhaps youd expect a true result by now.
Ive known women go up to 2 weeks past due date before getting a result so dont give up yet

i know how you feel scooby -i have been trying for around 14 months and was late by about 7 days a few months ago but then came on and was a little disappointed. for some reason something always seems to happen at around the fertile period (eg husband away; food poisoning; wee infection; feeling knackered) that prevents us from doing it at the right time. Its difficult because i'm trying desperately to avoid being one of those obsessional women you see on the tv!
It was day 14...then hubby had his op. I always knew it was a lit of a long shot but when I didn't get my period I got my hopes up, as I came off the pill a year ago! I've just "lost" a period somehow!!!
I'm going to stop wasting money on tests now, accept that that's it for 2007 and have a big glass of Pinot Grigio!!!!!
