my father wrote me a cheque but will be dead befor the cheque has cleared will i still get the money

this seems a bit cold-hearted,wendyeddie?is this a wind-up.and how do you know your father will be dead before it clears!!if he was well enough to write the cheque in the first place!!!!?

When someone dies, the executors go along to the Bank and present the death certificate and from that moment the account is frozen.

No cheques will be cleared from that account from that time and all debtors are referred to the executors

Joint accounts still operate.
