So the lady is going to be charged in the Sudan.
Never, EVER, EVER again will I contribute even a sou if I think any of it will end up in a half-witted backward black savage Muslim country.
I did wonder if there would be demonstrations on the streets of Britain by moderate Muslims protesting against this supreme JOKE. No, there aren't any and there won't be.
I'll stick with my South American Christian charity for kids.
Coming soon to the Midlands - Hisslam.

Can't believe nobody has posted this.
Oh and another great muslim law. Drinking alcohol is punishable by 100 flogs and up to 5 years inside, but smoking heroin (opium) is positively encouraged.
Pray to allah.

Sarnieken has actually come across a point, it would be impossible to deport after sentance a Sudanese rapist, murderer or child molester on the grounds that the country is unsafe, it's certainly unsafe for an illegal Sudanese immigrant who collects Steiff!
One problem vic with your analogies with regard to teachers both revolve around their conduct with other pupils, not stuffed toys. A more accurate comparison could be found by assessing the reaction of families (and the law) if a teacher of a class of the same age group told them that there was no such thing as Santa.
For all the fuss and forore in Sudan at the moment I dread to think what it'll be like when they finally take her to the airport and to freedom, these people would cheerfully tear her limb from limb.

The santa analogy fails as we are not led by a government who believe in Santa and deem his word to be law.
The country is a theocracy- a hard line Muslim one at that. Pretty much everyone knows that you can't drink alcohol there.
If you were to go out there with a bottle of whisky, should you be punished? But its only alcohol, but I am a responsible drinker, but I asked my 7 year old if it was okay????
I don't know all the laws out there - but I also wouldn't go to a country like Sudan to teach. If you were going out to a country that harsh, I'd make bloody certain I didn't do anything to upset them.
Belway - yes and this country is happy to let people go out and get pi$$ed 24 hours a day but won't let people take grass - which is far less damaging to the person and to the country as a whole.
Maybe we can agree on one thing - aren't there laws all over the world that are ridiculous!

I think all analogies on this are difficult but the point I'm trying to make is that there is phsical act taking place, this in cffect is a thought crime, to have sex with a student would anger a parent because of the intimacy is one thing, to tell them something their parents disagree with is another. Try this one, what if a teacher taught inteligent design to a class of teenagers? That's one for the atheists to chew on.
