Hi, is it safe to give a 9 day old baby gripe water, as on the bottle it says from 1 months, and my grandaughter holds onto her wind terribly. Thankyou

i dont know for sure but i wouldnt do it, as there is a big difference between 9days & 1 month, the baby is very young, so if i were you i'd get in touch with the health visitor for advice she may reccommend you dilute it a bit, although gripe water never worked with my baby!
Have you tried Infacol? Try that first and if it does not work get your daughter to ask her health visitor.
I agree with HJT40 on the infacol. I gave it to my daughter from a few days old and it worked a treat, definately give that a try first.
try infacol but also look at perhaps using anticolic bottles.

I wouldnt give a baby gripe water if its not recommended before 1 month old.

Infacol didnt work for my son but i changed his bottles to Dr Brown bottles (boots sell them at 10 for 2), they are pricey but are great
yeah forgot to mention that red, the type of teat the bottle has can drasticaly affect the amount of wind they have, i think if it's too big he'll take in more air causing the wind, double check with health visitor but i think thats right (been a bit too long to remember mines 4 now!)
We used Infacol from day 3 and it worked a treat

I think the inventor on Infacol should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize
