Retired Greyhounds

I am seriously considering adopting a two-year old greyhound who has retired early from racing due to injury. I have had dogs before which I have never had any trouble training. Am I likely to be successful with a greyhound, please?

Almost 2 years ago I adopted a 3 year old ex-racing male greyhound. He was "retired" after being attacked by dogs - he was not worth the vets bills so was dumped. When he was found he was nearly put down because of several badly infected wounds and general starvation. I suspect he was also over-raced because for quite a while he would suffer various limps on a daily basis. What sort of training are you referring to? GHs are generally not big on agility or advanced obediance, but if you mean generally well behaved, etc, youre unlikely to have big problems. With chasing, I can't walk my dog off the lead - if he's off the lead he will run and chase anything, but he behaves fine on the lead.
