I have done that on the odd occasion in the past. If the correction is done carefully, the tippex is hardly noticeable.

Thanks DSJ I will give it a try.
This was asked on here before and winners assured us that they have submitted corrected entries. I have bought an erasable pen now.
I send crosswords regularly with tippex corrections I thought this was ok as long as it was legible although I have never won anything could this be the reason?
I'm sure someone earlier in the year said they had won a competition with a tippex-ed out entry.
I never send mine in if I make a mistake - maybe thats why I have never won 8-[
Twas me !
I won a book token on the Telegraph cryptic and my entry had white out on it .
I think as long as it is legible and you get pulled out the hat they have to accept it .
Of course this may not apply with other crosswords . ..and different publications may have different rules .
As with shaneystar2 I've won on Telegraph crosswords with tippexed entries.
I have won two prizes on completed copies of Saga Magazine crosswords, using another copy for working on. Any mistakes can then be rectified before sending in.

What have you to lose by sending it in ?
It will just cost you the price of ther stamp. If they
pull your entry out and reject it, you'll never know, and you
know what they say - ignorance is bliss. On the other
hand, if the entry is acceptable you may well get a nice
prize out of it.
Hi, you can lift off the incorrect letter/s with sellotape if you are very careful. My wife is adamant that she either heard or read somewhere that most papers do not accept xwords with tipex on them, to avoid the possibility of internal collusion.regards , John.
Do people actually send in completed crosswords?

Me I never have done, that must be the reason I have never won anything!

Have many of you won any prizes?

Only joking really!
