I won't step foot into my doctor's surgery if I can help it despite the fact I have a long term health condition that requires regular check ups and medication. I don't want to sit in a waiting room full of people sneezing and coughing everywhere(they never seem to cover their mouths).
I rarely go to the doctors unless I absolutely have to go, but I would think that the people who do go at every cough and sniffle (there are several of these that work in my office) would probably answer this question the same as everyone else i.e. "nope, not me!" because they don't see that they are hypochondriacs.
(Hi btw 4get - long time no 'see' - glad one of us is getting out and having fun this Crimbo, i have been asleep by 10 most nights! Hope you having a good one x).
I have to go to my GP every month for other reasons. I wouldn't dare go for just a cold. Thats just ridiculous. I had really bad flue a few years ago and I struggled trying to get out of bed let alone have the energy to go to the docs. All you need is plenty of fluids and fruit.
I only go unless i absolutely have to! I hate going at the best of times without going without a bloody good reason! I do however, know a few folks who do go with every little ailment! It infuriates me cause when i have my twice yearly visit, i cant get in for a fortnight !
Coughs colds flu etc I will not bother the doctor. But I know when I need anti biotics or if I have something more serious, and then I will definitely go- even if it's embarrasing!
Hi 4get :) and All :)
Hope you all had a very good christmas.
I had the most awful argument with a GP the other week lol
Something about assessments of the drugs I've been on for years and blah blah blah.... I said no. I don't want blood tests or anything doing as I don't need to know and he's not on a need to know basis. Never been requested before I added.
He then wouldn't take no for an answer and said come into the surgery.
No. I'm not sitting in a surgery at this time of year with lots of colds and flu.
His answer was I'm in just as much 'danger' indoors.
Errrrrrr...... no.
I'm not sitting in a room at home with 20 people with potential flu.
He put the phone down on me!!!!!! silly basket.
So now I've got to write a long winded complaint to their manager.
I think you should actually commend your GP for taking the time to review your meds and probably do a liver and kidney function test to make sure they are not causing any problems, but you carry on as you are and dont complain when you turn yellow with jaundice because your liver is in crisis.
Ali,
I'm going to take the time to answer you for this reason.
I've been on the same drugs for over 10 yrs........ do you not think one would have turned yellow by now??? lmao!!! xxx
