because... if a man and a half can catch a fish and a half in a day and a half, so it means that 1 man can catch 1 fish in 1 day.

6 * 7 = 42

i think it's logical!

I think it's 42 as well . I just though there is such a thing as a half a man ( a merman ) he is also half a fish .So all half man and half fish are accounted for.

I dont agree. I think it is 28. As 3 men will catch 3 fish in 1.5 days not 3 days. Double the mean double the fish. Therefore 6 men will catch 6 fish in 1.5 days. Therefore 6 men will catch 4 fish in 1 days and 6 men will catch 28 fish in 7 days. The answer is 28.
