Cromwell was anti-monarchist, anti-royal and republican. He believed that Parliament, not the monarch, should run the country. He was not a socialist, however. He had no problems with class divisions and class heirarchy, but he didn't agree with hereditary titles like 'Lord', 'Sir', 'Lady', etc.
