Yes it was the Doors and will young is pants whatever he sings!But that's just my opinion.

Will Young's version is a cover of Jose Feliciano's version, itself a cover, and for the same reason - The Doors' version was typically on-the-edge and dangerous, both in its lyric and its rendition, Feliciano's version was designed to smooth the rough edges and ensure a hit with a sanitised version of a musically strong song. In keeping with the P.I. tradition, Will is releasing songs strong enough for Donald Duck to enjoy a hit with - everything to do with the material, nothing to do with the artist.

It was robby (guitar player) of the doors who wrote the lyrics for the song and i dont think young's version is rubbish but not original as they made out as it was exactly the same as feliciano's version. Still can't beat the original though.

The band decided to go home and write a song and no one came with any lyrics except Robby who came with Light My fire. He wrote the lyrics and the melody but he never came with the whole text. He wrote everything except a little line of Jim Morrison's that goes: "Time to hesitate is through No time to wallow in the mire Try now we can only lose And our love become a funeral pyre."
