I have a lot of vinyl records that I want to transfer to a more modern format, so that I can listen to them in the car, in my shed or on the move. I have had conflicting advice, so am asking for the help of all you intelligent ABers. Should I transfer them to CD, via my PC, so that I can play The CDs in the car, and get a personal CD player for use when gardening etc? Or should I download to an MP3 player and get an FM transmitter to play through the car radio? Either way I know I will have to buy a deck that can transfer via a USB connection.
The most expensive item in your solution is the device that will transfer your vinyl records to your PC.
Once in digital format on your PC, you can either burn them to disc (better quality) or rip them into MP3 files and download them to a MP3 player.
In your situation, I would burn to disc (to play in the car) and buy an MP3 player to listen in the garden (or wherever).
Forget about the FM transmitter.
