At worst, he's up 4 or 5 times a night, screaming in pain with his teeth. calpol/teething gels etc all help, btu only for a short while. Apparently the health visitor said some babies just don't do well with teething. Sounds like your wee chap is one of those unfortunately. Sending you both big hugs and hope it passes soon. xxx P.S. have you tried rubbing a small amount of alcohol (peach schnapps maybe) on his sore gums? Apparently it can work wonders where teething gels etc have failed.
It's very common for toddlers to feel a great deal of pain when teething. When my son was teething he often woke once or twice a night in pain but would go back to sleep after a cuddle. It usually only lasts one or two nights and then subsides as the tooth cuts through. Most of the time, I didn't realise he was teething until you could see the tooth and then it explained why he had been so miserable. Teething powders will help.
